To maximise your potential for lifetime employability, it is essential that you maintain high levels of professional competence by continually upgrading your skills and knowledge.

As part of the BCS Code of Conduct there is a requirement to undertake continuing professional development. Ideally this would be via a company development scheme using a BCS corporate professional product. Where this is not available, BCS Members can choose to be registered for ONE of the following Individual Professional Development products:

The BCS framework SFIAplus (Skills Framework for the Information Age - plus) is available to all BCS Members.

CareerBuilder™
CareerBuilder adds to Browse SFIAplus functionality by enabling you to manage professional development throughout your career. Available to final year students, associate members (AMBCS) and all professional members of the BCS (MBCS and all senior grades).

Professional Experience Record™
Professional Experience Record, which is aimed at the individual IT contractor, consultant or freelance specialist, adds to the CareerBuilder functionality by recording validated professional experience gained in the course of contracts and engagements.
